Mistakes we see most often
- Paying only the minimum due on credit cards
- Settling a loan instead of closing it, which leaves a negative "settled" remark
- Applying to many lenders at once after one rejection
- Maxing out a credit card, even if you pay on time
- Closing your oldest credit card
- Ignoring a small overdue amount (e.g. annual card fees)
- Standing guarantor without tracking the loan
- Never checking your report, so errors go unnoticed
- Not collecting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) after closing a loan
- Sharing OTPs or passwords with "score fixing" agents
If you have already made one
Most of these can be managed. Start by reviewing your report, clearing any overdue amounts and building a run of on-time payments.
